Shop & Share for Domestic Violence Shelters

First Lady Jane Beshear has announced this year’s Shop & Share for domestic violence shelters will take place at Kroger, Food City and Super Dollar Discount Foods locations throughout the state on Saturday, February 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This one-day grocery drive helps our program so much. In past years we have collected diapers, paper goods, hygiene products, and non-perishable groceries worth thousands of dollars. Last year we collected enough toilet paper to meet our shelter needs for 11 months!

We rely on  a lot of volunteer help to pull off this amazing day of giving at every store location in our 17-county service area.  Would you like to get involved? We’re looking for individual and group volunteers…and people and companies with trucks.

Here’s how to register to help:

Individual Volunteers
Do you have a couple of hours to give on the day of the event? We could use your help distributing wish lists and accepting donations at stores around the region. The First Lady’s office coordinates all of the individual volunteers for the day. Please visit this link at the First Lady’s website to register for a shift at location near you.

Volunteer Groups
Would your community or workplace group be able to “adopt” a store location in our service area that day? Let’s talk! Please complete the form below this note, and we’ll contact you to start planning.

Got a truck?
We could really use your help! We’ll need a few people or companies with a pick-up or box truck to assist with delivery of donations to our shelter throughout the day. Please complete the form below this note, and we’ll be in touch soon.
