The #GoodGivingChallenge continues, and the @tradbank1902 Human Services Match has begun! They’re providing 50 cents per $1 match for gifts up to $250! We’re sharing how your gift will help create brighter, more stable futures for survivors and their children.⁣

🏡 Every survivor’s journey toward healing is different, but common goals include achieving financial independence. Many survivors receive temporary rental and utility assistance to help them get back on their feet. Some transition to apartments in their home county, while others move into our @zerovkentucky Homes apartments in three Lexington locations.⁣
⁣
🌻 Our farm stipend project provides a chance for survivors to help with day-to-day tasks. Participants typically provide about 10 hours of help each week and earn $15 an hour. The experience offers nature-based healing and a little extra money to save for the future.

🧸 Our Children’s Safe Exchange and Visitation program offers options for families navigating complex dynamics. It’s a supportive space where children can spend meaningful time with their non-custodial parents.⁣

🧩 Scott, our program manager, and Rachel, our visitation coordinator, guide families through safe exchanges and visitations with safety and respect while ensuring visits are free from conflict.⁣
⁣
💜 With the support of specially trained monitors and off-duty police officers, safe exchange and visitation services helps children move forward with dignity, care, and the support they need to heal.

🏛️ We're sharing a closer look at how your gift will #SupportSurvivors with legal advocacy. Survivors of intimate partner abuse rely on the legal system for safety, custody, or property matters. Our legal advocates serve all 17 counties in our region.

💜 Alyssa, Laurie, and Stephanie are court-based advocates who stand beside survivors. Although our advocates can’t provide legal advice, they can help navigate the legal process.

⚖️ Court advocates often provide referrals to our other services and connect survivors to essentials like food and clothing.

☀️ Advocate Sunni leads support groups at our emergency shelter. How great are these textured stickers she uses for grounding and breathing exercises!⁣

🌱 Ryan is our nature-based healing advocate. He leads a support group on the farm, hosts volunteers, and sometimes pops into the kitchen to help prepare farm-to-table lunches.⁣

Today we’re giving thanks for our community. 💜

@firstpreslexington provided meal bags from their annual First Fixin's holiday meal drive for families we serve. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity.

We also had a lovely shared meal at the shelter with residents and staff!
